How They Came to Us
Kristin met Dacre through her client J.D. Barker. The Bram Stoker Estate had already tapped J.D. to co-author the prequel to Dracula so Kristin knew that she would also be working with Dacre and this uber exciting new deal for horror fans worldwide.
Dacre Stoker is a native of Montreal, Canada and the great grand-nephew of Bram Stoker. Currently based in Aiken, South Carolina, he and his wife Jenne manage the Bram Stoker Estate. As a popular speaker, he is often invited to give his signature talk entitled Stoker on Stoker, the Mysteries Behind the Writing of Dracula—a talk which weaves together the details of Dracula’s history with Stoker family lore, discusses Bram Stoker’s life in Dublin and London, separates fact from popular fiction, and reveals the truth about all things Stoker and Dracula.
Dacre has also consulted and appeared in recent film documentaries about vampires in literature and popular culture. He currently hosts tours to Transylvania to explore both the life and times of the historic Vlad Dracula III and also the locations where Bram Stoker set his famous novel.
In 2009, he co-wrote with screenwriter Ian Holt a sequel entitled Dracula the Un-Dead (Dutton). He is also the co-editor (with Elizabeth Miller) of The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years (Robson Press 2012)
