How They Came to Us

Jeff and Danielle connected when they were both industry presenters at RMFW’s Colorado Gold conference in 2015. The fun backstory is that they actually met in college when their respective roommates were dating each other. However, beyond exchanging the occasional eye-roll over the sappiness of their friends, they never really crossed paths in school. After Colorado Gold, Danielle offered to read a middle grade Jeff was submitting to agents. She took a look and loved the quirky whimsical world he had created. (Flying ships? Cloud Pirates? A group of orphans rescuing their guardians? Sign her up!) Shortly thereafter, they found the perfect home for his debut middle grade, which is set for publication in Summer 2018.

Jeff Seymour has been creating speculative fiction since he was a teenager. He has written for Clarkesworld Magazine and the Future Chronicles, and his novel Soulwoven got over a million reads while being featured on Wattpad. In his day job as a freelance editor, he has acquired and edited titles for clients including Harlequin’s digital-first imprint Carina Press and Kindle and USA Today bestselling indie authors. In his free time, Jeff plays more video games than he should, serves as support team to a wife with an incredible career of her own, pretends he knows anything about being a grown-up, and dreams.
