Nelson Literary Agency represents fiction for adult, young adult and middle grade books. We work with literary and commercial fiction. For nonfiction, we are only interested in memoir.
We are currently seeking:

We do not look at submissions for screenplays, short story collections, poetry, horror, mystery (unless chick lit), thriller, children’s picture books, any nonfiction except as listed above, or material for the Christian/Inspirational market.
Both Kristin Nelson and Sara Megibow are accepting submissions for representation. Sara has a site at Publishers Marketplace with more details about her taste and style if you are interested. Both agents can be reached via this query email address.
Please send us a one-page query letter by email to to gauge our level of interest. We do not accept snail mail queries. Also, we do not accept queries by phone or in person. If we are interested, we will send you a reply email with explicit directions on how to upload sample pages to our electronic submission database. We are an environmentally-friendly, paper-free office.
Please put the word QUERY and the title of your project in the subject field of your email. We receive a lot of spam and following these simple directions will ensure that your query doesn't get accidentally deleted. No email attachments please. Expect a quick response to queries (5 to 10 days). Occasionally, it may take longer.
