Big in Japan—We Hope!

STATUS: Travel day so I’m doing blog light.

What’s playing on the iPod right now? Ah, the old iPod is not with me on the road.

Ally just emailed me this photo. It’s release date in Japan. of I’D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU BUT THEN I’D HAVE TO KILL YOU.

Her translator took a candid shot in Japan’s biggest bookstore. Here’s the title on the front table—just where we like it.

Here’s to hoping Japanese teens love the Gallagher Girls as much as we do!

    Elektra,

A lot of Japanese covers have English words and/or titles. Many cover/graphic designers think that it’s easier to work with English font than Japanese.

The Japanese katakana title is also on the cover — big blocky black letters saying “SUPAI GA-RU”

What is the translator’s name??? I’m sure she’d love to PR–they’re a rare breed and do a LOT of hard work–and we’d love to know, of course, if it doesn’t break some unknown rules!
