God Bless. My heart’s with you.
Look at those birthday hats and that plastic doctor kit! That is the cutest thing ever! I am so sorry about your loss, but how lucky you were to have such a great dad! I lost my dad to cancer when I was 21, and I know how terribly painful it is.
May your father rest in peace. He sounds like an incredible man.
He looks so over-the-moon *happy*! A GREAT photo.
So sorry, Kristin.
Many prayers being said for you and your family.
OH my goodness. I hope you are doing okay. Praying for you and your family.
Sounds like you couldn’t have asked for a better dad.
My condolences to you and your family.
My eyes, my eyes. They’re leaking. My dad was born the same year – 1936. Blessedly, he’s still healthy but I can’t imagine losing him.
Still aching from the tragic and unexpected loss of my nephew a year ago, I feel your pain.
Wonderful picture of you and your dad. Thanks for sharing it. Hang in there, Kristin – grieving is a process. Hugs to you.
That’s absolutely adorable. It’s a gift to have had so many years with your father- my mother died when I was 12 and I wish I’d had more time to know her. I’m so glad you have such great memories of a wonderful man to cherish in years to come.
Peace be with you, Kristin.
I lost both my parents when I was 29. So sorry to hear of your father’s death. But happy for you that you had him for so long.
I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this time of loss and grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks for sharing these photographs and allowing us to get a glimpse of your daddy as well as your special relationship. Today’s photo makes me smile.
Again condolences for your loss.
I can’t help but notice in that picture what an easy smile your father has. He must have done that a lot. Like others, it made me smile as well.

My dad’s only in his early forties, but the very thought of ever losing him is dreadful.

My Dad had those glasses too. Judging by those gift, you could have been a book doctor. (Yes, you may groan.)
I am sorry about your Dad. My dad gave me a dozen roses on my 13th birthda and I’ve never forgotten that gesture. Dads and daughters have something special. I’m sorry, Kristin.
Beautiful photos, they speak volumes. It’s been twenty years now and I still miss my dad so, so very much.

Very sorry for your loss.
Kristin,
I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my mother on September 6th, so I know what you are going through. I wrote a little piece about her on my blog, so feel free to read it if you have the chance:

Take care.
What’s playing on my iPod right now . . . “We’ll Meet Again” By Johnny Cash (It might be a good song for you to hear at this time)
I found your blog a couple weeks ago and I really enjoy it. After being away for a few days, I was able to visit it today and just saw your January 6th post about the loss of your dad. My sympathies and thoughts are with you.
Like you, I was a Mid-westerner, the photo of your dad in front of the Christmas tree looked like it could have come from my family’s living room/den, Johnny Cash is my favorite artist, and I also lost my dad just about this time last year. I’m glad that you have such good memories of time spent with him, so hold onto those, and I hope that each day gets a little bit easier for you.
Don’t you find it weird now when people that don’t know you well and therefore may not know what has happened recently with your loss, ask how your holidays were, or wish you a Happy New Year? I thought it was weird, and I was relieved when those awkward questions disappeared after the post- holiday small talk was over with.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Take whatever time you need for yourself before you get back to work and blogging.
Ohh what a great picture. And I loved your last post too, thanks for sharing those memories with us. shniff shniff You are making me shnuffly.
Wishing you the best in getting through this difficult time.
So sorry to hear of this, Kristin. What a great picture of your dad. My thoughts are with you,
Becky
