STATUS: This time I arrived in Dallas on time. I’ll take it. Several years ago for the Dallas RWA, my plane was supposed to arrive by 4 in the afternoon. I reached the hotel at 1 in the morning.

What’s playing on the iPod right now? DOWNTOWN TRAIN by Rod Stewart (and yes I know that Tom Waits is the original songwriter)

Tomorrow the conference really gets started with the literacy signing. If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to seek out a few of my wonderful writers. The Autograph session begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regence, downtown Dallas.

Cool report. I already got a signed copy of Jana’s book, which I named Book of the Year 2006 on my blog and reviewed. I reviewed Linnea’s book, GAMES, but didn’t get a signed copy. I did get a GAMES sweatshirt though! I also got an ARC of DOWN HOME ZOMBIE BLUES! And reviewed it. In fact, I’d say Linnea’s two releases this year are competing with each other and NEFERTITI by Michelle Moran and SWEET SENSATION by Gwyneth Bolton for the number one slot.
    😉
    Ah, but it’s only July.

And I love Shanna’s books. One of these days I’m going to manage to make one of her signings. If people have a chance they should check out her blog – she’s doing some great stuff on archetypes.

On behalf of all Texans, let me welcome you to our fair state. Unfortunately at this point, we can only hope for unmerciful heat and not flash flooding, but you should have a good time anyway.

I’d love to see you there, but a) I’m not a romance writer, and b) I’m apparently dumb as a post and didn’t register in time.

Next time, I promise to not be such a nimrod.

I read Prime Time and loved it. I even bought a copies for my mother and best friend. It’s definitely on my recommended list. I can’t wait for the next one.

Obviously Ms. Nelson has a thing for snazzy titles.

“If you aren’t a part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”

Let good lit die, for there shall always be a goodly supply of trashy romance rags.

Kristin– I know working (and hopefully having a good time) but do remember it’s been several days and some of us need our Pub Rants fix!

I read the first two of Shanna’s books on my way to Norway and back!
    They were totally fun!
Her books are absolutely wonderful airplane books.
