STATUS: Just returned home from the awards ceremony and the post-celebration.

What’s playing on the iPod right now? Nothing at the moment.

It’s official! An hour or so ago, Kim Reid won the Colorado Book Award for her memoir NO PLACE SAFE.

I cannot tell you how proud I am and how pleased I am for Kim. If you haven’t picked up this wonderful book, it really is worth the read.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kim at the VA Festival of the Book last spring–she is as wonderful as her memoir. And what a fascinating tale she’s told.

    Congratulations, Kim!!!

Kim’s book is wonderful! I read it and then I saw her (and you) speak at a bookstore in Boulder. She deserves this award and I’m so pleased that Colorado recognized it.

    Congratulations to you both!

Thanks everyone!! What an amazing experience – I’m really honored, especially given the fine company I was in for this category.

It was great that Kristin was there to celebrate with me since she worked so hard finding the right publisher for my story.
