STATUS: TGIF! Have a great weekend.

What’s playing on the iPod right now? EVERYTHING LITTLE THING SHE DOES IS MAGIC by The Police

Okay, absolutely nothing to do with publishing but I’m still sick and this just made me laugh. Enjoy!

Thanks for the laugh. I love dogs. Our yellow lab used to pull my kids around the backyard by their shoestrings on a regular basis. The kids loved it as much as the pooch.

    Feel better soon.

They say laughing is good for you. Watch this a few times Kristin and maybe you’ll get well. I know I certainly feel better.

    Thanks for the laugh.

Kristin – I just got back from playing a show (over three hours worth of music!) which went amazingly well. This is the perfect end to a perfect evening. Thanks for the laughs, and I hope you’re feeling better soon. (Listen to your body. Rest is a beautiful thing.)

That is hilarious. I love how the kid getting peed on doesn’t even seem to notice!

On another subject, I have to tell you, I think that you are my “music twin.” I would say that 95% of the songs on your iPod are on my iPod. And the ones that aren’t, I check out and like. It’s almost freaky how similar our tastes are.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Kristin, I recently discovered your web site and blog and absolutely love them both! I am pursuing a degree (in Denver) that (I hope) will help me get into publishing! You have so much great information on your blog and it is really helping me learn more about the industry! Thank you so much for your willingness to share your insights and experience. This is the best kind of learning experience – great info and lots of laughter! Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

Most of them were funny except for when that guy’s head hit the ground with a sickening thud. Ouch.

I recently saw a video of a dog running in his sleep, then he woke up, kept running and ran into the wall. Talk about a rude awakening!

    Hi Kristin,

This is totally off-topic, but I’d like your opinion. Do you think an edgy novel dealing with the teen years should be presented as YA or literary fiction? By edgy, I mean some sexuality, some violence, adult issues, and cussing.

    Would appreciate your thoughts.

    Kristen,
Just had to pass this on.
Requested Jamie’s book for my birthday and Daughter went her local Borders. Walked up to the counter and asked for “Hotel on the..”
The clerk reached over her and snagged the book off the rack on the SALES Counter. Daughter says it is obviously a very hot book to get such great placement.

Can’t wait til my birthday to get into it.

Kristin, I know you don’t answer comment questions, but can we have your input on what went down with queryfail over the weekend?

If the idea was to “educate” I think it failed. Since the queriers didn’t sign up to be “made fun of,” and no feedback was given on what a “good” query looks like (as you’ve done by posting some of your clients queries) how, exactly was it helpful?

I found it to be a huge breach of trust between agents and writers, posting snippets of queries for others to roll their eyes at and laugh about.

Lord knows, today is one of those days that laughter is much needed. Thanks for providing it.

Hope you’re feeling better soon. this stuff going around is truly nasty.

    Kristin,
In the last few weeks, I’ve become an avid reader of your blog, and I absolutely loved this post! My favourite was the little dog carrying the weights. I have a little dog who likes to walk on his front two paws, too, and I’ve never seen another dog do that. Thanks for that!
