STATUS: I think I need another weekend to recover from my weekend. Grin.
What’s playing on the iPod right now? ROUTE 66 by Natalie Cole
Really? Could I blog about anything else today? Enjoy!
So you can track us, I’m wearing a white visor and Simone has on a blue bandanna.
Watch the chick in front of Simone. She ends up falling into the boat. Better than the alternative I have to say.
Lesson of the day: tuck you feet securely while in the raft.
Also, we are going through two sets of the rapids. In the second set, look at the rock to the right of the picture.
My personal favorite is the shot where pretty much everyone in the boat disappears in the spray.
White Water rafting has always been on my list of things I must do. Someday.
Looks like you had a great time.
I see what appears to be a lot of screaming…lol.
Yeeha! You survived! Looks like you had a blast too.
I agree with Aimee. I think I can hear the screams from here. 😉
Haha–these photos are awesome! And a couple are just begging for some captions to accompany them. 🙂 Looks like you two had a wonderful time!
You definitely went beyond the call of duty. It looks like you had a blast! I bet the water was refreshing! (That’s code for frigid)
I’m so jealous. I mean, I’m right here, just a few hours away from some serious whitewater rafting, and yet I just can’t seem to get there. Oh well. 🙂
Dear Simone,
Thank you for not drowning our agent.
Yours fondly,
Kristina
I’m getting motion sick just looking at the pictures.
Glad you guys are okay 🙂

OMG, I’m SO jealous! It looks like you guys had a blast. I’ve always wanted to go. Even my kids have gone (with my parents, no less!) but not me. Do you feel sorry for me? Yeah, well you should. I’ll have to add this to my sooner rather than later “to do” list.
What fun to watch you from the safety of my computer chair!
I haven’t gone rafting since my twenties — these look great (and bring back tons of memories).
I love white water rafting. So much fun. Looks like you had a great trip. Thanks for sharing a little bit of the fun.
I’ve never been white-water rafting and these photos don’t help me decide if I want to or if I’m terrified to do it. I hope to get the chance someday, but I’m sure I’ll scream the entire time.
Glad you had fun!
Good for you two hanging in. I did a white water rafting trip in the Rockies and it was terrifying to me. Luckily the guide took pity on me and tucked me in near the front of the boat and I never got thrown out. My feet were very tucked in and I held on very hard….
You all look like you had the times of your lifes. Yeah!!!
That looks like a blast! I’ve only been on the Green River (Wyoming/Utah)–very tame in comparison.
Awesome!
Looks like fun 🙂
I’m so jealous! I’ve always wanted to go white water rafting!
Hooray! Looks like fun. So much better than my first time, when i fell out, got sucked under the raft for a space in time, and made very painful acquaintance with some rocks on the way down the rapids… But, hey, that’s what lifejackets are for. 🙂 [You can see why i saved comment on rafting until AFTER you’d done it.]
It looks like you guys had a blast! I enjoyed sharing in the fun. Thanks.
Questions I’m pondering:
Would my agent do this?
Would my editor care if I was wearing a life jacket?
Ha!
No helmets??? (I’d probably insist on wearing an entire coat of armor, I’m such a chicken.)
You definitely win the Cool Agent award. Thankfully, as an editor, the writing is after the fact, and the insanity has already happened.
What am I saying? The insanity is just beginning.
Anon 9:38 — Um, a suit of armor would sink. Don’t do that. (A helmet might be OK, though!)
Wow, you are certainly braver than I am! Even the thought of white water rafting scares me.
Now you’re ready for the canyon of the Rio Grande above Taos.
Awesome pictures. My husband and I just got home from white water rafting on the Main Salmon in Idaho (class III and IV rapids.) It was our first time and it was incredible. I highly recommend it.
Now that I’ve done it, I can write it into my main character’s activities, since she is quite the daredevil.
Count me among the jealous. I miss whitewater rafting. I haven’t done it since I moved down to Florida and stopped working at a summer camp.
